Prasenjit Chatterjee was born 30 September 1962. He acted extensively in both Bengali and some Hindi films. He is regarded as one of the prolific influential superstars in both regional and national level. He began his career as a child artist in Chotto Jigasya and instantly won BFJA Awards. He got his big break opposite Vijeta Pandit in Amar Sangi(1987). Thereafter he went on to star in action and romantic films like Apon Amaar Apon, Dui Prithibi, Prem Bandhan, Arpan, Choto Bou, Amar Prem (1989 film) Badnam (1990), etc. Towards the mid-career, he switched to middle road cinemas like Chokher Bali, Dosar, Autograph,Moner Manush,Jaatishwar, Traffic, Baishe Srabon, Shankhachi, Zulfiqar.
